BIBLES
Bibles are expensive, hard to get, and sometimes even dangerous to have in certain parts of Africa. One of the primary objectives of HERE AM I Ministries is to get Bibles into the hands of the people, whether that be through purchasing them in Africa (which means we can often get them in native languages), or carrying them over in luggage (which is heavy and expensive, given airlines will only allow for two, 50 lbs bags with additional bags costing $200!). Many are praying for their first Bible, and so we ask God would use us to provide as many as possible. For $12.00 you can provide a Bible - which may go to a South Sudanese war refugee, a new convert, a Christian-in-hiding, a student, etc.
Some who are praying for Bibles are doing so knowing that, should they be caught with a Bible, they could be severely punished or killed. Some stores won't carry Bibles in certain languages for fear of their store being destroyed, whether through riot or bombs. But there are people on the ground with Here Am I who are getting the forbidden Bibles to the praying Christians-in-hiding. We are blessed to be used by God to answer those prayers! Donate |
RAEL
Morrice and Rael Okiring have been ministering among the Tesso tribe in Apetit, Kenya for some time. Rael had been walking with a limp for ten years until the pain in her hip became too severe to deal with, finally seeking a doctor for help. It turned out she had been walking on and living with a broken hip all that time! After a surgery to fix it, Rael was doing well until severe pain returned. The surgery failed, to the point that the metal rod used to fix the problem had further damaged her hip bone and was coming out through her skin.
The Lord has led us to a good doctor in Kenya. He has helped others with the same or similar problems. He is a born-again believer and has a caring heart for his patients. On March 1, 2024, a surgery was done to remove some bone fragments and left over debris from the failed surgery that was causing pain, and believed to be causing infection. After healing from this surgery there will be more surgeries to come in the process of repairing her hip and leg. But this doctor is confident and has done similar hip repairs to others. We are thanking the Lord for this development as we also continue praying for full healing, and for all provisions needed to complete this process. Donate |
Chlorine Producing Unit (CPU)
Drinking water in Africa has been a major issue for a long time. Millions die from bad water each year around the world. Because filtration systems are expensive and difficult to maintain, a different method of providing safe water was developed by SWIM Ministries, and HERE AM I Ministries actively provides these chlorine producing units as we travel around Africa.
Using an electrolysis process, salt water is converted to aqueous chlorine which can be used to make any water safe to drink. We shy from using the word "clean" because cleaning the water is often done through straining and allowing sediments to sink and separate. Chlorine can't clean the water, but it can make it safe to drink. All that is required is the CPU, a power source like a car battery or solar panel, salt water, and the containers to hold the product. Easy enough for children to manage, the CPU's have opened doors to minister in remote areas, to Sudanese refugees, and even mosques. Our pastors take chlorine to people on the village, giving them opportunities to minister. That's the beauty of it - when we provide the chlorine, we provide the gospel as welL!
We have never had a unit wear out, and a single unit can produce enough chlorine in a day to provide for an entire village!
At $40 a unit, this is truly a great way to spread the gospel!
