Affordable School for Hundreds of Kids!

During the months of February and March of 2022, a five room Children’s Ministry building was constructed on the property of HERE AM I Ministries in Buwembula. Uganda.
In May 2022 HERE AM I Nursery and Primary School began holding classes. |

As of this writing (March 2024) nearly 400 students are enrolled, including grades Pre-K through 7th Grade.
Due to space issues, a temporary "lean to" structure was built to hold the 7th Grade class, but we are praying and trusting for the funding to provide another five classroom building. This additional space will also allow us to start providing high school level classes. But beyond basic school learning, we have the vision to start providing vocational training classes to equip the students to work and benefit their communities. These vocational classes would include welding carpentry/woodworking, masonry/construction, tailoring, and others as the Lord leads.
Additionally, due to the intermittent availability of electricity (power outages are a normal, often daily, occurrence), we would like to add solar panels so that computers and other technology can stay operational. We would very much like to obtain a copier and computers so teachers can print out lessons rather than write everything out on the chalkboard every day (see photo below). Obviously, this would save time and greatly add to learning time and efficiency. An area to house the office is also needed. And lastly, a more sanitary and safer kitchen will need built as well.
Students are required to supply 1/2 kilo of food per month to supply the pantry, and provide school materials and a uniform.
This ministry currently employs 22 people, 13 of which are teachers, and needs more workers, including more teachers and support staff. A teacher's salary is $125.00 per month. But, given the inflating economy, this needs to increase. Our prayer is that God will stir the hearts of His people to support the teachers. Whereas many get excited to “sponsor “ a child or children, supporting the teachers impacts ALL the children in attendance and not just the children who receive a sponsor.
