MINISTRIES

HERE AM I Ministries has several areas of service, all of which need support, both financially and in prayer.
Please check out our different areas of service below, and prayerfully consider helping us out!
Please understand 100% of all donations go to the ministry.
All donations are tax deductible, as HERE AM I Ministries is a 501(C)(3) organization.

HERE AM I BIBLE SCHOOL

Ephesians 4:11-13 says "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ..." The mission of HERE AM I Bible School is to train up pastors from rural areas of Uganda and Kenya, that they may be able to go back to their churches, equip their own congregations, edifying (building up) the church, that the work of ministry can be done in Africa by Africans. Alongside their Bible Study, the pastors will also enhance their English skills (since many don't have bibles in their native languages) and an occupational skill, such as welding, mechanics, phone/computer repair, hair styling, culinary skills, etc. This way, these pastors and church leaders can work to support themselves while doing the work of ministry.

The school currently has about 40 students who come once a month for one week intervals.  It costs each of them around $14.00 per month to attend the school, which covers their boarding, meals, and class supplies (pencils, paper, occupational class materials, etc). Also, a small portion is returned to them, that they can pay for their journey home using public transportation. We are asking for donations of $20.00 dollars a month to support a pastor or church leader's education.  The extra $6.00 (or approximately 21,500 Ugandan Shillings) will help cover additional school costs (electricity, better food, school improvements, etc).

Currently, students are sleeping on the floor on thin mattresses, the kitchen is little more than a camp fire, showers must be taken in the dorm rooms from buckets and jerrycans filled from a well, and the desks, chairs, and outhouses were built for elementary students, as the facility is a former elementary school.  There is one desk for the administrators to share in a small office. There's no library or literature, other than the Bibles which are given to each student who attends. And yet, there are pastors eager to come to the school, because they know they need to learn the Word and grow in the knowledge of God.  Not only that, they're willing to pay to attend classes.  This is why we're asking for your help. Your donations will both pay for a pastor to attend the school, but also help in improving the school's facilities.

Here's one comment from one of our students, a former Muslim, and dear brother in Christ:
"Words cannot begin to describe how excited I am to be part of Here Am I Bible School in Bugiri, Uganda. I thank God for enabling me take this journey with you guys. May we enter heaven rejoicing together that we were part of the greatest leadership movement Africa has ever seen if not the world."

BIBLES

Bibles are expensive, hard to get, and sometimes even dangerous to have in certain parts of Africa.  One of the primary objectives of HERE AM I Ministries is to get Bibles into the hands of the people, whether that be through purchasing them in Africa (which means we can often get them in native languages), or carrying them over in luggage (which is heavy and expensive, given airlines will only allow for  two, 50 lbs bags with additional bags costing $200!). Many are praying for their first Bible, and so we ask God would use us to provide as many as possible.  For $10.00 you can provide a Bible - which may go to a South Sudanese war refugee, a new convert, a Christian-in-hiding, etc.

Some who are praying for Bibles are doing so knowing that, should they be caught with a Bible, they could be severely punished or killed.  Some stores won't carry Bibles in certain languages for fear of their store being destroyed, whether through riot or bombs.  But there are people on the ground with Here Am I who are getting the forbidden Bibles to the praying Christians-in-hiding.  We are blessed to be used by God to answer those prayers!

HEARTLAND WORSHIP CENTER
SUNDAY CHILDREN’S MEALS MINISTRY

Heartland Worship Center gathers at the HERE AM I Bible School every Sunday to help feed children in the neighborhood, many of whom do not get steady meals at home. The church is ministering to around 65 children weekly, which will only grow as the news spreads. It takes around $20 a week to feed the children.

INDIVIDUALS

We at HERE AM I Ministries have met many people in Africa, and some really need support.  Below are a few people we feel are in the most need.  You can sponsor them and their work!

RAEL

Morrice and Rael Okiring have been ministering among the Tesso tribe in Apetit, Kenya for some time.  Rael had been walking with a limp for ten years until the pain in her hip became too severe to deal with, finally seeking a doctor for help.  It turned out she had been walking on and living with a broken hip all that time!  After a surgery to fix it, Rael was doing well until severe pain returned.  The surgery failed, to the point that the metal rod used to fix the problem had further damaged her hip bone and was coming out through her skin.

As of right now, the infection is too severe for surgery, the bones need extensive repair, and the road to recovery is extensive.  But praise be to God for His mercy and grace, as Rael will be seen by the Mayo Clinic in the coming months.  She will be coming to the United States with Morrice as soon as passports, visas, and finances are in place. Your support of Rael will help cover medical bills and further therapies.

LYDIAH

Lydiah is a sister who has a desire to serve women in a community center in Nairobi.  Her husband left her after she converted to Christianity, has four children, works full-time teaching women how to sew, and gets little to no payment for her work.  Even so, she continues to work, living with a relative, that she can share God's love for those she is teaching.

BOSCO

The South Sudanese war has driven hundreds of thousands of refugees into nearby countries, like Kenya and Uganda.  Bosco is a pastor in the largest refugee camp in the world, Bidi Bidi Refugee Camp.  Having connected with HERE AM I Ministries through the safe water CPU's, Bosco has been spreading God's love through providing Bibles, teaching many communities about safe water and chlorine production, and teaching the Word where ever he goes.  He does all this while pastoring his own church and trying to support his family on only that which the Ugandan government gives him.  It is illegal for refugees to obtain employment, so they must live off only what is provided, or what they can grow from the infertile soil.  And yet, the church is growing and God is moving.  Through a contact of Bosco's we were able to obtain 300 Bibles for the refugees!

SILAS

One day, while Pastor Dickson (one of the pastors we're connected with in Kenya) was in a town and saw a little boy walking alone.  After asking around where he was from, Dickson found where he lived and visited.  It turned out the boys parents had both died and had been living with a grandmother in a family compound with two uncles.  However, the grandma eventually died and the uncles neglected the child, refusing to feed him or care for him in any way.  This resulted in Silas having to fend for himself, which involved walking into town to look for food.  One woman would give him some fried bread every day, which he would take home.  But given the fact that he had no other food, he resorted to eating whatever was in the hut with him, which included his mattress and his own feces.  When Pastor Dickson took Silas in, he was infected with jiggers (a burrowing sand flea that lays its eggs under the skin, and after the eggs hatch, the young burrow their way out, using the skin tissue as nutrients as they go), he would not talk, and the doctors said he would not walk (due to the damage from the jiggers) or live more than a month or so.

However, after good care and over a year later, Silas is a walking talking machine! Pastor Dickson has taken him in as his own son, even paying for his education.  Silas does have some cognitive problems (which may or may not have been caused by his neglect and undernourishment).  He attends a special school here he is learning to speak Swahili (as opposed to his native tribal language) and other basic skills.  He loves to build, especially cars, and his laugh is dangerously contagious.  He is an absolute joy to be around.  Supporting Silas will get him the education he needs, help Pastor Dickson provide clothes, food, etc, and help Silas have a bright future.
